Our Mission
Guardian River Ranch is committed to providing exceptional service to our customers!!! We raise Newfoundland puppies for service dogs and the general family. We look forward to talking with all of our customers.
About Us
We are family owned and operated. Here at Guardian River Ranch we have many different parts to our functionality. Crystal Waters Newfoundlands had its name before I moved to Montana in 2017. Therefore the name and website have continued to be used. Please feel free to ask us any questions.
Colors of THe Newfoundland
A NOTE ABOUT COLOR!
I do not price differently or advertise a non standard color as rare. There are 4 recognized AKC colors for the newfoundland. Black, Brown, Grey, and Landseer (white and Black).
Based on genetics it is completely possible to get non standard colors from 2 standard colored parents. I have had white and brown puppies out of a black mom and a landseer dad. Both parents had the recessive brown genetic marker. While I do have 2 non standard dogs in my program Heidi a Brown and white and Esme a Beige Retired. I chose Heidi not based on color but what she could offer to a sound mind, structure, how she would better the programs needs. If she is breed to a non brown carrier males she will only produce landseer and black.
When she retires will she be replaced with another non standard colored female?
That all really depends on how the replacement dog/ puppy checks the boxes for me. I look for dogs and puppies that are eager to see their humans. That have the structure that will support their weight throughout their life. That are mentally stable and quick to learn. I typically chose my replacements out of litters where the parents consistently produce puppies that meet my requirements to keep the genetics alive.
Why is there a second Newfoundland Kennel connected to the site?
You will see connection to Trinity Ranch the home of Trinity Newfoundlands. Trinity Ranch is our sister Ranch owned by my good friend Liz Ishler and her family. I take care of the advertising and website for both of us. I also take care of the whelping and raising of the litters between both kennels for the time being. The partnership is part of the reason for the major revamping of the website. 1 site is easier to run than 2!!! We also send customers to each other if we don't have what the customer is looking for.
